If I were Francine, I would join both evaluation techniques because no single assessment strategy/tool/task can examine all learning forms. With Gardner’s Learner’s various intelligence, realizing when assessment can be presented in nine (9) distinct ways and consequently can be evaluated in nine (9) unique ways, as well. Instructors, therefore, should employ varied evaluation pedagogies and assignments. Indeed, one standard of appraisal is to use different techniques and tools (p 206). The mix of the two methods ought to allow learners to become active members during assessment time. As learners become answerable for their own learning and appraisal, the process changes into an education instrument. Additionally, hybrid evaluation methods should cultivate significant higher-order learning abilities, including critical thinking skills. The hybrid evaluation strategies give all learners a better chance to exceed expectations in school over the continuum of learning capacities and style. The crossbreed of these appraisal systems would address the learners’ issues since it will guarantee that all students are included. By having them present to the rest of the class, Francine will make the learners need to comprehend the material truly. Since leaners are heterogenous, they could move from information and cognizance levels to meaningful analysis (p 207).
