1. There are databases such as JSTOR that contains scholarly sources only. A scholarly source is a peer reviewed source. Luckily, Kean Univeristy has its own website which is library.kean.edu. Students can search and access databases for any subject. In that website, there is a section where you can choose “peer-reviewed journals and full texts only” which makes our lives so much easier.

2. I obtain scholarly resourses by scholarly journals with newspaper and magazine articles. They can be found in the Kean online library databases. It can be filtered out so that the only things that are found is newspapers, magazines, journals, the specific year and peer-reviewed articles. Also with the use of the online library databases, the use of advanced searches can help to achieve the search topic that is needed. The way that it would work would be by using keywords that would be found in articles that would be described in the article or used frequently. the resourses that are available at Kean would be its own online database search engine that allows the user to access other search engines for specific topics related to the research. Some of those databases would be EBSCO & ProQuest. With EBSCO, there can be certain links that would be used to find subtopics inside of the main topic. For example, there can be a EBSCO link that would have every artice that deals with Criminal Justice. It would be labeled under Criminal Justice or even Criminology. To find ot if it is scholarly or not, it would mean that it would have to be peer-reviewed. This is a lengthy editing and review process performed by scholars in the field to check for validity and quality. You can also see if it is peer-reviewed by investigating the journal in which the article was published.

The source was peer reviewed- which means another expert in the field has written their own analyses on the source. c. Ensure that the author cited sources that they used to complete their writings.

You can use databases such as JSTOR that only use scholarly articles, or you can use other databases such as Academic Search Complete or EBSCO databases that allow you to choose a variety of peer reviewed articles. In addition, Kean’s library has more than 420,000 e books, which are accessible from anywhere by anyone who has a Kean username or password. The library’s homepage is the gateway to find the library’s resources. It provides access to databases that allow you to search for citations, abstracts, and more. They also provide coverage of business articles. To determine if they are scholarly, you can investigate the journal in which the article was published.

5. Many sources can be found in Kean University through its diverse system of database searches found in the library. Due to new circumstances with the virus the only way to access theses said sources are through the databases online searches found in library.Kean.edu. A scholarly source is a peer reviewed paper where the paper is read and critiqued by a credible source with facts and strong argumantable topics. The way I research is through keywords found within texts or within titles. the only one I truly am familiar with is JSTOR. Althppugh it is high recommended that everyone check their sources for validity.
