Alternative assessment for Critical Analysis and Social Care Concepts January 2022
Due: January 8th @ 12 noon
Word Count: Each essay must be 1,500 1750 words
Students must complete two questions from the questions below.
1. Discuss the key concepts associated with Antonio Gramsci. Answers should include how these concepts are useful to understanding the challenges associated with social change and Social Care.
Answers should be based on the material discussed at lectures and tutorials. Students may also bring in other readings relevant to the question. However, this is not a requirement.
2. How does the concept of participation impact the work of social care?
Answers may draw on lecture notes and tutorial discussions. There are also readings on Moodle which may be referred to. Students may also bring in extra material but should email me first to make sure these sources are appropriate.
3. Explain the key points associated with Rawls theory of Social justice. Answers should allude to how these ideas have relevance for social change and social care.

4. Discuss the key ideas outlined in Wilkinson and Picketts book The Spirit level.
