NRSE 2020 Instructions for Personal Nursing Philosophy Paper

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for the student to demonstrate communication skills in writing while using a scholarly style incorporating APA guidelines.

Write an introduction paragraph for this assignment, not an abstract. Then, describe your personal philosophy of nursing including how you define the four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm (Nursing, Person, Health, and Environment). Compare and contrast your personal philosophy with two nursing theories that are closely related to your personal philosophy. Describe how each theory agrees with your philosophy and how you/they disagree with your philosophy. Provide a summary or conclusion paragraph. Make sure to use proper grammar and spelling. Use headings to identify each section and subsection of your paper. Follow APA guidelines for headings. There is a minimum page length of 3 excluding the title and reference page. Follow APA formatting guidelines. The header includes the page number only. The page number should be flush right.

Submit your first draft to the appropriate drop box for feedback regarding your use of APA format. Once you receive feedback, re-write your paper incorporating the feedback. Be prepared to exchange your paper with another classmate for the peer-review on the date posted on the course schedule. Using the peer-review, make any final adjustments or necessary changes to your paper before submitting to the final drop box by the due date on the course schedule.
