Describing a work of art is part of the art historical experience, and it takes practice. For this assignment, write a visual analysis essay (4-5 pages of text, double-spaced) as described in your video lecture. Use your own skills of visual perception; no research is necessary to complete this assignment.
The assigned image (pictured below) is a photograph. Use as much terminology from your first two chapters, class, and my video lectures (module 2.1) as you can to discuss their formal elements, while creating a fluid description. Discuss the composition first, then style, and follow with other elements as they apply with the most important first and least important last. Be sure to define terms so I know that you understand them.
